Playwriting Camp or Behind the Scenes Camp

PLAYWRITING CAMP

Work with a real playwright to brainstorm, outline, and write a short show.  Work with a music teacher and choreographer to add music and dance to the show. Rehearse the show and perform it after the final day of camp. Students will receive a tshirt as part of the camp.  Plan to bring a sack lunch and snack.  Performance tickets are not included in the camp price.

June 10-14

9 AM to 1PM

1 performance: June 14 (evening)

Attendance for each day of camp and performance is REQUIRED

Ages: entering 4th grade through graduated 12th grade

BEHIND THE SCENES CAMP

Learn all about what it takes to work behind the scenes and put together a production.  Work with a technical director to learn what it takes to run the lights and sound equipment.  Work with a set designer, props master, and costume mistress to learn how these vital parts work together with the actors to tell the story.  Create simple props and set pieces for our Playwriting Camp. Put it all together to observe and assist a technical team during an actual performance.

June 10-14

2 PM to 5 PM

Assist with 1 performance: June 14 (evening)

Attendance for each of camp and performance is HIGHLY ENCOURAGED

Ages: entering 5th grade to graduated 12th grade
