Meet This Season’s Directors!

  • Allie Broome

    Cheaper by the Dozen

    Allie, an experienced director, brings her passion for storytelling to the stage. With a longstanding association since 2006, she has played key roles as assistant director in acclaimed productions like Tarzan, Tuck Everlasting, Beauty and the Beast, and Mary Poppins. Working with adults and children alike Allie brings a wealth of knowledge to the table and cannot wait to direct this upcoming season. This fall, Allie takes the helm, directing the much-anticipated show "Cheaper by the Dozen." Beyond the theater, she shares a loving home with her sweet husband, Brent, while also contributing her skills as a surgical technologist at Athens Eye Doctors and Surgeons. With Allie's creative vision and dedication, this production promises to be a masterpiece of theatrical artistry.

  • Heather Arnold

    James and the Giant Peach, Jr.

    Heather, an experienced director, has dedicated her life to the world of theatre. With a passion for the stage ignited at the tender age of seven, Heather's love for dance began even earlier at three. Throughout her journey, she has seized incredible opportunities to teach diverse classes within Brightstone and the community. Her favorite dance style to teach and perform is tap, witnessing her students blossom into confident performers each semester. Having directed numerous shows at Brightstone and served on various creative teams, Heather possesses an intimate understanding of the intricacies involved in her role. Currently, she is eagerly preparing to direct the upcoming production of James and the Giant Peach Jr. this fall.

  • Cubby Rupers

    The Music Man, Kids

    Cubby Rupers, a dedicated director, is thrilled to helm Music Man Jr. this fall. With a background in voice and theatre, Cubby has taken the plunge into directing after previously working on multiple creative teams at Brightstone. Their accomplishments include studying voice and theatre on a semi-professional level, which has equipped them to lead and inspire their teams to put on amazing shows. When not at Brightstone, Cubby resides in Athens, cherishing quality time with family and friends. They consider Brightstone a true blessing, allowing them to combine their career skills and passion for musical theatre. Excited to share the joy of theatre with others, Cubby looks forward to introducing young performers to the enchanting world of musical theatre.

  • Zebulon Weeks

    That’s Christmas to Me

    Zeb, a seasoned performer, has found a home at Brightstone for the past three years. Having contributed to numerous Brightstone shows on tech and creative teams, Zeb is now stepping into the director's role for the upcoming production, "That's Christmas to Me." With a lifelong passion for singing and performance, Zeb is eager to bring their vision to life and help both adult and child performers break out of their shells. Brightstone has become a family to Zeb, and they are thrilled to direct this Christmas with boundless enthusiasm and dedication.

  • Rebekah Kenerly

    Puffs!

    Holding a BFA in Directing from Belmont University, Rebekah Kenerly has worn many hats as a professional theatre artist & comedian! She is excited to continue her relationship with Brightstone having been in Mary Poppins (Mrs. Brill), Cinderella (Charlotte) and The Addams Family (Morticia), and stage managing & prop designing several other shows. Her lot in life is to make people laugh, which is what makes her the perfect fit for Puffs!

  • Evan McCall

    Winnie the Pooh, Kids

    Evan, a seasoned performer with roots at Brightstone since childhood, is set to direct "Winnie the Pooh Kids" this spring. With a wealth of experience on tech and creative teams for numerous Brightstone productions, Evan is thrilled to breathe life into this delightful show. As a prop master and director of marketing, Evan brings a unique perspective to the director's chair. Having previously directed, Evan eagerly looks forward to guiding our students towards their acting goals, fostering personal growth, and nurturing their talent as performers.

  • Andrea Berry

    Beauty and the Beast, Jr.

    Andrea, one of our esteemed directors, is thrilled to lead our upper school class in the enchanting production of "Beauty and the Beast Jr." this spring. With over 7 years of experience on creative teams and having directed numerous Brightstone shows, including "God Bless Us, Every One," "Annie Jr.," "Jingle in the City," and "Aristocats Kids," Andrea brings a wealth of expertise to the stage. Her passion for music and working with students is evident, and she is grateful for the opportunity to nurture and guide their growth throughout the production.
